EPIC® Environmental Protected Industrial Heavy duty Connector

JJ-Lapp Cable's EPIC® (Environmental Protected Industrial Heavy duty Connector) are made from various housing and contact inserts. Here are the individual components of a complete rectangular connector.

>> Cable gland
The cable gland provides a seal between the cable and connector housing. Additional functions include strain-relief and braid continuity for EMC protection.

>> Hood
The connector housing for the cable entry is made from lightweight aluminium alloy.

>> Male insert
The contact termination Screw Crimp (stamped or machined) cage clamp is made from thermoset plastic.

>> Female insert
The contact termination Screw Crimp (stamped or machined) cage clamp is made from thermoset plastic.

>> Base
The base constructed from lightweight aluminium alloy consist of three designs:

1.Panel mounting: cable entry through an in-panel cut out
2.Surface mounting: cable entry through a gland in the side of the
   connector base.
3.Cable connector hood: cable to cable connection.
